WBA is hiring a Machine Operator at our Amherst, NY location.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
Responsible for safe operation of equipment in his charge and in the care and maintenance of shop equipment in general
Set-up and operate planner mill, cutting indexing, saws, ironworkers, benders, punches, stud welders, drill presses, press brake machine, vulcanizing equipment, shot blaster, portable hand tools, milling machines, burning machines and torches
Draw templates and develop cut sizes for formed parts
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Assemble or install miscellaneous components, hardware and rubber products on all systems
Operate tow motor, swing cranes, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Candidates must have the following to qualify for this position:
High School graduate or equivalent
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
Operate all equipment according to standards and machine instructions
Work from shop drawings and other directions as provided
Must have experience operating machine tools in the metal forming industry
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
