Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are looking for a RAVEN Project Manager who will be charged with leading the RAVEN ( RA w Material V alue EN gineering) team and related activities while reporting to either the Admixture Systems in Beachwood, Ohio, or the Construction Systems Controller in Minneapolis, MN. The team is responsible for sourcing and overseeing the implementation of cost savings opportunities including qualifying and approving new suppliers and/or sources of raw materials, packaging, and freight optimization. The target baseline of financial savings is 2%-3% of the raw material, packaging, and freight spend per year.
The position closely interfaces with Procurement, Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Finance. The incumbent will, through gaining of experience in all of these multiple functions, build leadership and projection management skills, as well as functional knowledge leveraged to deliver cost savings results. The successful candidate will work both independently and in collaboration with associates responsible for each specific functional area.

Formula for Success: You Will…
Lead the RAVEN team’s efforts to identify raw material, packaging, and freight cost saving opportunities. Establish shared targets and goals, prioritize opportunities, and coordinate and implement cost saving initiatives among various cross-functional groups. Provide regular status updates to senior management.
Identify and evaluate economic valuation of opportunities and provide comprehensive financial analyses of benefits and costs to implement. Establish metrics of accountability to measure targeted cost savings.
Engage with business units including, but not limited to, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Finance to lead, support, guide, and measure the progress of implementing actions to support project goals.
Ensure compliance with all quality initiatives and processes, including ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004, while addressing and raising EHS standards at BASF.
Hold accountability for following and contributing to work processes designed to achieve improvement in company process safety performance.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience or 12 years of experience in lieu of education.
Five years of project management experience in the areas of procurement, technical development, manufacturing, or supply chain; experience in Construction Chemicals or Specialty Chemicals is a plus.
Strong analytical, team leadership, project management, technical/computer, and communication skills.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles, Construction Chemicals quality standards, and customer specifications a plus.
