Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team and who will ensure timely production of high quality products in a cost efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner by coordinating, planning and setting the direction of the production team. This is done with strong leadership and a good working knowledge of the related technologies.

You will communicate and focus the shift teams and support team on the goals and targets established by the Business Groups and the SLT. This requires overall coordination of production, Maintenance and TES support, capital investment, health and safety, ecology, quality assurance, coaching and development of all production team members.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Lead and manage all aspects of production in accordance with Safety, Environmental, Budgetary, and Quality requirements.
Manage production shifts through the Shift Supervisors to ensure timeliness of product manufacturing and delivery to meet order demand, product quality and cost constraints.
Lead Production Engineers and specialists in areas of operations support, technology, maintenance, quality, costs, safety and ecology.
Develop and communicate clear goals and standards to team members; in so doing, provide leadership in monitoring plant operational data to assure meeting of product specifications and production targets at lowest achievable manufacturing costs.
Monitor/Control variable and fixed cost spending budget and capital spending.
Participate within the SLT in setting of plant goals, budgets and objectives and monitoring plant performance to assure continuous improvement.
Champion new ideas; inspire for excellence and trust; foster diversity and a team environment.
Provide training and coaching to technical and production personnel to create a high performance team with unified objectives and strategic direction, as established by the SLT in support of strategic business goals.
Track and manage asset effectiveness and provide regular status reports.
Assure the plant is maintained in a clean, organized and safe manner.
Manage employee Performance Management Process and communicates results with management and employees.
Coordinate preventive maintenance with maintenance supervisor to avoid unnecessary downtime.
Ensure timely reporting, investigating, root cause analysis, and corrective implementation of all accidents and incidents within the manufacturing department.
Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.
Maintain focus at all times on environmental, health and safety aspects from planning through execution of tasks assigned. Support applicable Process Safety programs through participation in compliance audits, capital project reviews, regulatory PHAs (revalidations, clean-sheets) and other hazard / risk assessment activities as required or assigned. Ensure the on time completion of Process Safety related mechanical integrity inspections as assigned. Utilize Management of Change (MOC) to assure timely communication and training of process related changes to affected personnel. As required, participate in any process safety related incident investigations and completion of assigned action items in a timely manner. These tasks may be required as dictated by your duties.
Process safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly-defined and include an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to process safety concerns. Senior leaders are held accountable for process safety performance. Employees understand the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs and are responsible for following and contributing to the work processes to achieve improvement in company process safety performance.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
BS degree, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
Knowledgeable of chemical processes and manufacturing technology and methods. Specifically, this requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a production/manufacturing environment. Experience with construction chemicals a plus.
Strong leadership skills to lead and direct shift and technical personnel. Strong communication skills, organizational skills, conflict resolution skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities required.
General knowledge of equipment repairs, instrumentation operation, and the functions of related support and service departments preferred.
Interpersonal skills to foster teamwork with subordinates, peers and superiors both internal and external to the Brighton Site and BASF. Ability to supervise/manage in a fashion that is consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
