Position Description: The responsibilities of this position include providing training for the needs of BASF’s Automotive Refinish Group, primarily focusing on Technical Training Programs but also including business seminars meant for better managing a Collision Center. Interaction with all levels of distribution and end customer is required. Requirements also include interacting and supporting team on collaborative course development projects and also completing individual projects in support of entire Training Team.

STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE:

  • Assist in development or formation of ideas/strategies for Value-Added Programs and Services.

  • Assist in the development of Technical Courses for BASF as it relates to the Glasurit, R-M and Limco Brands.

  • Work closely with sales management, Training Team, Value-Added Service Team and Brand Management to develop programs to assist the refinish business in market share growth.

  • Work with co-workers, agencies and vendors to obtain a fair market price for any third party services needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To train and coach internal and external customers in the automotive refinishing process.

  • Act as a spokesperson for BASF in the collision industry.

  • Actively participate in collision industry events to support BASF's Initiative.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of the BASF Automotive Refinish Product Portfolio preferred.

  • Ability to apply automotive refinish products is mandatory.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Engineering with five years of experience in the collision industry

  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree a high school diploma is required and ten to twelve years of previous training experience within the collision industry.

  • Ability to apply automotive refinish products.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong leadership skills (can construct a vision, thinks creatively to solve issues, and is goal-oriented).

  • Comfortable leading and facilitating groups through the Automotive Refinish Process.

  • Fluent with Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to work as a team and an individual.

  • Experience facilitating seminars.
