Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager who will have management responsibility for all aspects of Supply Chain for the Dispersions & Colorants business in North America based in Charlotte, NC. This will include supply and demand planning, sales and operational planning, master production scheduling, and material planning. As the Supply Chain Manager, you will also be a member of the Supply Chain leadership team for Dispersions and Resins in North America.

The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiberbondings, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing. Supply Chain Manager (1701742) – Charlotte, NC

The primary focus for this role is responsibility for maintaining optimized inventory levels to meet customer service levels, while optimizing transportation costs, production efficiencies, and internal/3 rd -party logistics costs.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Lead the Dispersions & Resins supply chain team with responsibility for sales and operational planning (S&OP), supply and demand planning, and import planning.

  • Direct the S&OP process for the Dispersions & Colorants businesses, which entails balancing of supply and demand with resulting inventory optimization and ensuring supply reliability.

  • Guide the Dispersions & Colorants demand planning processes including monthly demand forecasting in close collaboration with sales, marketing, and product management teams.

  • Hold accountability for the supply planning process, including master production scheduling and support for raw material planning within the Dispersions & Colorants supply sites. This supply planning encompasses the Monaca, Chattanooga, Freeport, and Louisville manufacturing sites, as well as replenishment of imported products to ensure optimized supply meets customer demands.

  • Supply Chain Leadership: Represent supply chain on the Coatings and Construction business leadership team, as well as within the Dispersions & Resins regional and global supply chain communities.

  • Manage projects for the Dispersions & Colorants supply chain, including continuous improvement/ Lean Six Sigma, customer collaboration, and supply and demand planning.

  • Drive the continual development of the Dispersions & Colorants supply chain team through professional development and project-based learning opportunities.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field; APICS (American Product and Inventory Control Society) supply chain certification is preferred.

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in supply chain, manufacturing, business management, or operations; experience in the chemicals or materials industries a plus.

  • Working knowledge of supply chain processes including demand planning, S&OP, master production scheduling, and inventory management.

  • Strong SAP or other ERP planning systems skills, combined with ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Continuous improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma project experience a plus, along with prior supervisory experience.
