We are seeking a Supply Chain Operations Manager to join our North America Dispersions & Resins Supply Chain team based in Charlotte, NC. (Incumbent could also be located at our Southfield or Wyandotte, MI sites.)
The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiberbondings, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing. Supply Chain Operations Manager (1700304)
You will have overall managerial responsibility for the Resins & Additives site supply chain planning which includes raw material planning, finite production scheduling, order management, and transportation. Site responsibilities include Wyandotte, MI (Resins plant), Louisville, KY, West Memphis, AR, and Quincy, FL. You will also manage those responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels, executing production schedules, and coordinating inbound/outbound transportation.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Provide leadership and expertise to optimize inventories, material planning, production scheduling, and transportation.
Develop and implement short- and long-term targets in conjunction with site, business unit, and corporate groups in order to meet strategic business unit goals
Leverage Lean Six Sigma tools and project management to drive continuous improvement in planning processes and site logistics
Effectively coordinate with BASF corporate supply chain and logistics groups both in North America and globally for project implementation and process optimization.
Act as liaison with corporate procurement team to improve raw material planning processes and drive project savings.
Actively promote best practice development and sharing across Dispersions & Resins supply chain teams and across BASF business units
Member of Dispersions & Resins Supply Chain Leadership Team and Operations Leadership Teams

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Science or related field.
Minimum 8 years of logistics, supply chain, material management, or operations experience. Experience within chemical or materials industries and manufacturing environments is a plus.
Must exhibit strong leadership competencies in order to lead diverse and remote teams.
Demonstrated experience with finite scheduling, material requirements planning, warehousing, or inventory control theory & practice.
Strong working knowledge with MS Excel, analysis / database tools, ERP planning systems (i.e., SAP).

APICS certification or nearing completion of certification
