The Site trainer / ERP coordinator position is designed to develop, implement and maintain a site training curriculum for all operational and maintenance positions. The curriculum also evaluates yearly operator competencies and provides a gap analysis for training improvements. The trainer position will allow operators an opportunity to complete various training classes and field training under the supervision of a qualified and experienced operator knowledgeable in plant activities. The trainer position will also provide the site with a valuable resource for creating and updating existing procedures and training material. This position also will lead the ERP program for the site impacting training with safety behavioral principles and best practices.
The position is responsible for:
Initial employee Training class for all new hires including the lab, production, maintenance and logistics departments.
Train new hires on using email, shift notes, SAP, and on line training courses.
Train and qualify new and existing operators on fork trucks.
Conducts a field training rotation with new hire full time employees by following the production procedure training matrix. Operators will be trained on site procedures.
Trainer will be required to update training records to reflect operator readiness for testing on selected procedures.
Update procedures, procedure test records, and Bi-annual training classes as needed to maintain up to date training needs for the site.
Conduct control room training using the site Control Room Training guide for operators in the production department.
Conduct Lock Tag and Try training using the site Lock Tag and Try training program for the production, maintenance and logistics department.
Conduct Line Break training using the site Line Break Training program for the production, maintenance and logistics department.
Conduct P&ID training using the site P&ID training program for the production, maintenance and logistics department.
Lead the ERP site program and support all of its elements
Member of the ER team
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
The position requires the following elements:
High school diploma, Higher education degree preferred.
5 years in chemical plant environment
Trainer experience in chemical processing
Knowledge of Alkylpolyglycoside and Esters preferred
Strong leadership capabilities to build and develop teams
Technical knowledge in chemical and physical processing
OSHA PSM experience, strong safety awareness
Knowledge of Behavioral Base Safety programs.
The candidate must be willing to work required overtime, and must possess the willingness and ability to work outside in various weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the job such as; bending, stooping, lifting up to 50lbs. On occasion, climbing ladders, and working at various heights is required. The individual will be very safety conscious when working with and around chemicals, show initiative, have excellent attention to detail, be results oriented and customer focused, possess good communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a team environment. The individual must also be able to prioritize tasks and be self-motivated. Must have knowledge of the proper methods of handling corrosive, flammable and explosive raw materials.
