We have a great opportunity for an Asset Engineer to join our team and to lead the Asset Effectiveness improvements for the Battery Materials Production team in Elyria to maximize profitability and maintain EHS performance as part of Strategic Production.
Asset Engineer (1701506)
You will participate in the development of capital and maintenance strategies and plans to optimize Asset Effectiveness, ensure optimal life cycle costs and achieve the business objectives. You will work with Battery Materials Production Team, Site Maintenance and reliability, and CCB global technology manager to develop both Maintenance Strategies and Tactical plans as well as to continuously improve define the overall asset capability of the technologies employed.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Develop, analyze and maintain plant relevant Asset Effectiveness Key Performance Indicators (AU), identifying and managing planned and unplanned downtime strategies and driving reliability improvements.
Evaluate improvements to plant physical assets to minimize total cost of ownership in assigned area, considering asset replacement, business priorities, and capital expenditures.
Lead cross functional team to maintain the Critical Equipment lists and Maintenance tactical plan (Pm/PdM). Maintain ownership of the documents. Help promote Autonomous Maintenance and provide or coordinate appropriate level of training.
Manage and assure planning of all production outages.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required); Mechanical, Electrical/Controls (preferred)
7 Years operational and/or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required, 10 years preferred
Strong leadership skills and/or cross-functional project leadership experience required
Experience having lead cross functional and multicultural teams or managed contractors or executed project and outages
Must be able to work with and collaborate well with other departments and organizations as well as people.
Strong analytical thinking, communication, customer focus, teamwork/collaboration, and conflict management skills.
Technical competencies of troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, computerized maintenance system, Microsoft Excel and Word, and work execution process, job planning required.
- SAP experience preferred
