Director, Product Management Care Chemicals North America (1701760) – Florham Park, NJ

The Director, Product Management, is responsible for the development and management of the assigned product portfolio to meet the financial and strategic objectives of the Care Chemicals business. This position reports directly to the SVP and is a member of Senior Management Team. The position serves as the head of the Product Management group, which includes Business Management of our Standard Surfactant Products for Care Chemicals - North America. .

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Manage a complex and diverse portfolio of Care Chemicals assets and technologies (NIO surfactants, anionic surfactants, chelates, polymers, acids, co-surfactants, Fatty Alcohols, imported specialty products from Europe) at different sites.

  • Oversee cost improvement and standardization for Standard Surfactants Products (SSP) to run the business as a successful, lean, and reliable model.

  • Drive strategic decisions for the SSP business, including CAPEX and investment projects to optimize strategic product allocation.

  • Lead a team of 20 people, and manage direct reports as a leader of leaders.

  • Set and monitor tactical standard product prices based on market intelligence; optimizing margin for business results.

  • Drive cost improvement and standardization across the asset network, and enhance asset effectiveness in conjunction with Supply Chain, commercial functions, and Manufacturing.

  • Ensure continuous portfolio optimization and capitalize on competitive and market intelligence for product lines.

  • Harmonize and standardize different approaches and processes to product management within EM.

  • Set rules for product allocations to customer.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Chemistry or a related area; Master’s degree a plus.

  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience in Product Management, Sales Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and/or other Commercial role.

  • Experience directly managing others, combined with ability to drive change for improved efficiency and optimization,

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; capable of interfacing with various BASF business units for a joint value chain optimization.

  • Solid understanding of both commercial and technical business complexities.
