BASF's Care Chemical’s business is seeking a strong professional with demonstrated experience in sales or sales related activities to perform the role of a Global Key Account Manager, (GKAM) and a Regional Key Account Manager (RKAM) focused on 2 major accounts within the Home & Personal Care organization. The individual in the position plays a key role in leading the strategic planning process for one key account as a GKAM. The role has the global lead for a key account and regional lead for another key account in the Care Chemicals group.
The position is seen as an ideal opportunity for an individual to demonstrate their ability to develop and implement business strategies in a diverse business environment. The successful candidate is expected to be the main communicator to these customers on a global/regional basis.
Leads GKA strategic planning process including the generation and execution of an account plan
Leads the execution of the individual GKA strategy
Leads the development of the individual GKA strategies in accordance with Home & Personal Cares strategies
Is responsible for and leads the pipeline development for the GKA (Globally) and the RKA (regionally)
Leads global/regional relationships
Focal point for customer knowledge; key contact for BASF`s senior management
Steers global activities with GKA, gets involved in regional / local negotiations if needed
Gives input to, and shares the global and regional picture with the RBUs
Defines global and regional budget and monitors critical KPIs for both GKA’s
Identifies and implement new business opportunities
Identifies and implements R&D projects opportunities
Tracks and reports the performance of the GKA
Ensures the exchange of information across organizational and regional boundaries.
Serves as key contact for problem escalation and resolution with customer
Coordinates and promotes activities surrounding the selling of products to KA globally. (New business development, R&D, technical and marketing)

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

BA/BS required with 5 years industry experience preferably in chemical Sales, Marketing and/or Account Management. Experience in the Home or Personal Care market segment desired
Strong business acumen and demonstrated customer orientation
Proven leadership and influencing skills along with persuasive solution selling and demonstrated negotiation and problem solving skills
Highly motivated and goal oriented, with a proven record of goal attainment
Highly organizational and effective time management skills. Must have strong presentation skills
Intercultural awareness with ability to adjust leadership and communication styles.
Must be able to travel up to 50% domestic and International
