Sales Manager, Regional Key Accounts, Personal Care Solutions, builds, manages and coordinates a strong commercial position for Personal Care Solutions in North America by thoroughly understanding the business, by gleaning market feedback on customer needs and new application opportunities and by facilitating the sales of a strategic, profitable product mix by cooperation with Marketing, Technical and Product Management.

The position is seen as an ideal opportunity for an individual to demonstrate their leadership ability to execute business strategies in a diverse and global business environment.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Be responsible for sales and profitability targets for assigned accounts.

  • Negotiate bids and contracts for specific Regional Accounts

  • Translate and funnel customer requirements into the EM / BASF organization

  • Provide input to, and shares the regional picture with the RBU head

  • Identify new business opportunities

  • Manage team of account managers in continuous pursuit of sales excellence.

  • Promote and enable the development of skills and competencies within the sales community, including best practice sharing.

  • Ensure timely forecasting from team members for major customers.

  • Be responsible for providing necessary tools and internal information to team to increase efficiency of account managers and customer focus of internal partners.

  • Develop measures to identify, develop and capture new opportunities at developmental accounts and drive opportunities to closure through strong pipeline management.

  • Serve as key contact for problem escalation and resolution with customers.

  • Monitor growth development and prepare periodic reports including sales pipeline scorecard, sales forecasting, monthly sales and market profit.Leadership Core Responsibilities

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • HS Diploma with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience required (e.g. sales or business management.) with at least 3 years of sales experience required. Personal Care industry highly preferred. Experience in marketing or solutions selling is a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership and management of people. Direct supervisory experience required.

  • Demonstrated excellence in a high performance cross functional team environment.

  • Personal Care Industry experience highly preferred.

  • Possesses excellent professional selling, coaching and negotiation skills in addition to established analytical skills and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and strategic planning tools preferred.

  • Travel 50%
