Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Site & Infrastructure Development Specialist reports into the North America Customer Enabling team (NC/Z). Among other topics such as Management Consulting and Perspectives, the Customer Enabling team provides regional leadership for operational excellence, ensures energy sustainability and efficiency and develops site infrastructure, assets, and capabilities across North America to help the region reach its growth and profitability targets.

This position will provide additional support to the Regional Business Units' (RBU) growth and profitability goals by providing transparency to the North American infrastructure, costs, and operational excellence opportunities, and ensuring cross-functional alignment through implementation of the NA2025 Regional Strategy objectives.

Site & Infrastructure Specialist (1702352) – Florham Park, NJ

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Support the implementation of the NA2025 Regional Strategy to optimize asset performance in North America.

  • Drive the global process "site performance check" including coordinating site-strategic positioning and classification of production sites in the region.

  • Support site development planning workshops helping sites and businesses align to long-term operational plans.

  • Spearhead asset and site network optimization analyses to identify potential optimization scenarios to support business growth and profitability.

  • Provide analytical support for site selection in North America, including extended evaluation, analysis and recommendation for future location investments or expansions.

  • Assist in technology evaluation for NA, encouraging manufacturing efficiency and improving performance.

  • Collaborate with sites and other team members in infrastructure analysis and investment planning.

  • Interface with the Corporate Tax team to secure state investment incentives.

  • Review and analyze unused manufacturing capacity, prioritize tolling to be brought in-house, capacity free for external sales, or consolidate opportunities in line with RBU growth and profitability plans.

  • Support corporate KPI and Site Benchmarking processes.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required; a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred.

  • At least 6 years of overall business experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.

  • Background including working for an organization with a large, global product portfolio and extensive breadth of capabilities.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and team building skills; bilingual a plus.

  • Solid results orientation.

  • Ability to travel when needed.

  • General knowledge of BASF NA Manufacturing sites is a plus.

  • Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma is preferable.

  • Experience in a matrixed organization desired.
