We are seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our team.
Senior Accounting Analyst
Formula for Success: You Will…
Perform cost accounting related functions including product valuation pricing, manufacturing and spending analyses, and identification of opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency increases
Provide accounting support to build and maintain a business partnership with the various Utilities/Site Services/Operations Areas (must become familiar with product flow, process interrelationships, and cost drivers)
Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with respective Operations/Supply Chain/Production Associates throughout the month, and specifically during the closing process, to ensure that timely, accurate, and representative data populates the SAP system
Serve as an information source regarding Capital Policy
Evaluate economic portfolios to determine feasibility of Lean/Six Sigma projects
Utilize and support the Non-Trade Billing process
Participate in Operations review meetings and Accounting Team meetings
Compile, reconcile, analyze, summarize, and present/report costs on a monthly basis to site/business/corporate management
Guide and support management in the preparation, review, and analysis of annual operating plans and monthly forecasts
Provide transparency of costs to businesses and be able to provide suggestions for fixed and variable cost control efficiency
Prepare journal entries and service allocations
Create accounting controls and control spreadsheets to complete service allocations and residuals analysis and adjustment
Fully participate in the physical verification and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and catalyst inventories on an annual basis
Assist management in proper necessary financial, accounting, and controlling procedures and any accounting related areas

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor Degree (BS or BBA) in Accounting or Finance from accredited college or university with 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures with emphasis in cost accounting preferred
Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret accounting information for management in forms of costs, operating plans, policies, and trends
Self-starter and self-motivated; must be a consummate team player willing to actively support efforts outside of their defined areas of responsibility
Must have initiative and must assume the responsibility to get tasks completed accurately and on time; must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Excellent PC skills (MS Excel, Access, Word); excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all personnel among the various levels
CPA, CMA, or MBA
Previous site cost accounting experience
SAP and Audit experience preferred
