Senior Operations Engineer- Freeport, TX
The purpose of this position is to achieve strategic business needs through process safety, capital project support, process and product optimization and automation. This position is responsible for driving continuous process innovation by creating strong relationships with Maintenance Team and improve the reliability in the process thru a strategic cost management.

Formula for Success: You Will…
Function as Maintenance Liaison interacting with Maintenance team to ensure the maintenance execution is executed on time, on cost and with the quality required, promoting discussion on the PM frequency, Out of Service equipment, maintenance priorities and planned outages.
Participate in Plant Reliability activities by serving as the leader of the Plant to review with Maintenance the strategies needed to maintain reliability as expected.
Participates in asset effectiveness review meeting, incident investigations and root cause failure meetings involving Control system failures (to include DCS, SIS, and PLC).
Function as liaison with service groups and outside contractors to ensure that unit expectations are clear and that work is accomplished correctly, promptly and cost effectively.
Interface with global production, technology, and other Business Groups with primary focus on innovation and best practices.
Provide support to the Production Execution team by addressing second tier plant troubleshooting and technical training on unit chemistry, processing steps and process optimization for the shift workers.
Responsible for the scope development and implementation of an automation strategy (in alignment with the site’s automation strategy) to help reach the automation vision. This includes High Performance Graphics, optimizing and consolidating systems, networking of all controls systems in the area and implementing advanced systems to utilize the complete capabilities of every control system.
Lead the Digitalization efforts and manage Plant Automation roadmap by developing and execute projects and process optimizations.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
BS Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering)
5+ years of Chemical, Petrochemical, or Refinery Experience
Proven organizational skills.
Strong understanding of Process Engineering concepts and their applications
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ and other applicable code and regulations and standards
Must be able to work within a diverse organization.
Practical experience in process control, field equipment and DCS/PLC Control Systems.
Commitment to a safe and efficient workplace
Strong collaborative skills, keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
