Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are seeking a Learning & Development Coordinator, Polyol, to be the training expert for professional and specific training. The Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of all training curriculum including specific processes, technical skills, safety refresher training, and/or new employee qualification training.
Learning & Development Coordinator - Polyol (1702336) – Geismar, LA
You will ensure the professional and team development training, technical training and all other training is completed to promote effectiveness, consistency, and continuous improvement to the training process in a cost-effective manner.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Develop and implement a world-class training program to provide a highly effective, high-performing, motivated, and safe workforce focused on safe operations and continuous improvement by:
Collaborate with external resources (outside of their unit/department) to analyze the needs, design, develop, implement, document, and measure the effectiveness of training.
Coach and develop unit/department employees to establish a high-performance culture.
Continuously improve their skills and knowledge to maintain alignment with current learning and development trends.
Support safe, reliable performance of duties by ensuring that units/departments comply with Site, Corporate, Quality, and regulatory standards related to operating procedures, and MOCs (Management of Change).
Collaborate with Corporate L&D and peer L&D Coordinators to drive best practices and consistency of training across the site.
Establish relationships with OJT (on the job training) mentors, subject matter experts, procedure reviewers, training reviewers, operations engineers, managers/supervisors, and EHS staff to support the area's training activities.
Develop and implement a standardized training process that complies with all regulatory/Corporate requirements, such as EHS, PSM, ISO by:
Work with peers to develop processes, tools, and templates to deliver standardized training.
Enhance skills to include adult learning methodologies and ability to deliver one-on-one coaching and instruction, in-the-field training, casual small group training, and formal stand-up instruction.
Maintain, update, and audit all training documents and procedures as required by changes, MOCs, and periodic reviews.
Coordinate and document common training across site, including items such as shift safety training, corporate process safety training, and emergency response training.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a chemical/petrochemical or other similar manufacturing environment OR a High School Diploma/Equivalent with at least 8 years of experience in a chemical/petrochemical or other similar manufacturing environment.
A minimum of 2 years Polyol or ethoxylation process experience is required.
Background in developing, implementing, and maintaining management work processes in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate learners by appealing to the characteristics of adult learners.
Capable of assessing training needs and results, translating job requirements into training requirements, and organizing instructional material, both during development and in presentations.
Presentation skills suitable to all types of training including one-on-one coaching, in-the-field training, casual small group training, and formal stand-up instruction.
This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
