The position provides technical support for process safety and risk management compliance activities as needed through a shared services concept.
PSM/RMP Compliance Specialist (1702780) – Geismar, LA
Formula for Success: You Will…
Provide technical and regulatory expertise to maintain OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance through support and program assistance for the Louisiana Site Services Hub.
Serve as the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations subject matter expert for the Geismar site.
Manage all site-level PSM and RMP Elements, including the management of the Risk Management Plan and Geismar PSM Manual.
Participate in all BASF PSM/RMP internal compliance audits conducted for the Geismar site. Participation will be as an audit team member.
Provide technical and regulatory expertise to maintain Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) compliance through support and program assistance for the Louisiana Site Services Hub.
Review incident reports for proper PSM/RMP classifications and monitoring for events that would trigger reporting requirements.
Monitor management of change (MOC) activity on the Geismar site.
Track Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) revalidations for the Geismar site. Will be required to make reports to the EHS Manager on PHA revalidation compliance.
Develop/Implement/Monitor the PSM/RMP Roadmap for each Cluster to ensure a standardized process for demonstrating compliance on the Geismar site.
Act as the Site lead during any PSM or RMP regulatory audit.
Work with each plant to evaluate current and future PSM/RMP boundaries. Work to make boundary determinations as consistent as possible between Clusters on the Geismar site.
Develop and/or conduct PSM/RMP training for the Geismar site as applicable.
Develop and implement Geismar specific Compliance Audit Program (CAP) for PSM and RMP.
Work with the BASF Centers of Expertise and support organizations to keep Geismar current on any changes to PSM/RMP regulations.
Provide the Geismar Site Leadership Team with regular reports on the PSM/RMP status of the site and current PSM/RMP related issues.
Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Responsibilities including regulatory interpretation and forensic analyses oversight for compliance assurance
Process Safety Incident Reduction Initiative (PSIRI) Responsibilities around tracking and trend analyses for process safety related incidents
Work with the Process Safety Specialist to develop a 5-year strategic plan for Process Safety on the Geismar site.
Develop proficiency with PHAST, ALOHA, and other modeling software. Become a resource for Facility Siting and RMP ACS/WCS modeling in Geismar.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science required.
At least 3 years of PSM and RMP regulatory knowledge and expertise required; PSM and RMP within Chemical Manufacturing is a strong plus; individual needs to have detailed knowledge (theory and application) of the process safety discipline.
Basic knowledge of chemical manufacturing is a plus.
Experience in implementing or consulting on process safety programs, in a manufacturing arena, is preferred.
Experience/training in Process Hazards Analysis is a plus.
Risk management modeling and Leak Detection and Repair experience considered is preferable.
