We are seeking a Regional Marketing Manager, Refining Catalysts who will play a key role in BASF’s ongoing effort to maintain its industry leadership in the catalysts market, particularly in North and South America. The individual in this role will partner with regional sales and marketing leaders to increase our market share through detailed competitive analysis, development of regional pricing strategies, and external market communications efforts to raise customer awareness.
Regional Marketing Manager, Refining Catalysts (1701559)
BASF Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) petroleum refining products overcome limiting factors affecting refinery capacity and operating flexibility to deliver value and performance. Catalysts are a crucial component in the processing of highly valued petrochemicals, gasoline, diesel and other fuels.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Drive sales volumes and margin goals through identification of new markets and customer requirements, new product introductions, and strategies and tactics to increase BASF’s overall market presence in the Americas region.
Lead the ongoing assessment across the Americas region to ensure continuous understanding of growth, trends, and issues that affect the market, as well as drive the market's perception of BASF's leadership in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) technology.
Partner with teams across the organization to develop product offerings to maximize demand and to implement long-term growth strategies.
Manage value-based pricing strategies to optimize market value ("value over volume"); oversee regional pricing processes for approval and systems tracking.
Recommend pricing levels to sales directors and global marketing and business leadership based on regional pricing data and market knowledge.
Share responsibility for regional profit-and-loss results, and support profit growth strategies through support of win/loss analysis, pricing approval processes, and price benchmarking.
Assist senior leadership in developing, tracking, and aligning strategic business plans as they relate to the Americas region including, but not limited to, needs-based segmentations, sales funnels, strategic targets, and CIM.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
An undergraduate degree in required chemical engineering or a technical field preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.
A minimum of 5 years work experience in Specialty market, Catalyst and/or oil refining industry knowledge a must.
Commercial background in business/marketing. Strong communication skillsets, Spanish language is a plus
Critical thinking, decision making, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work successfully in a team, strong commercial presence, good written & oral communication skills.
Ability to work across businesses with various functions including sales organizations, technology, technical service, product management, R&D, and with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to lead others by influence
Ability to maintain computer based market analysis tools
Must be able to travel (including internationally) 25% of the time.
Preferred minimum 5 years of experience in the oil refining marketplace
Preferred minimum 3 years of experience in technical marketing or sales concepts
Technical & financial understanding of refinery and petrochemical operations preferred
