We have an opportunity for Global Business Manager. The position reports to the Vice President, Global Refining, Salts and Solution - Catalyst Division. You will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and management for the commercial, business development, marketing and product management activities associated with the global catalyst market.

Formula for success. You will…..

  • Develop the strategic plan and implementation road-map for the Salts and Solutions and Refining businesses. Provide primary leadership together with commercial, operational, technology and financial functions to develop optimal business plans. Develop and implement strategies for industry positioning, customer management, pricing, and channel to market to drive profitable growth.

  • Lead the process to ensure identification of new business opportunities, options analysis, market penetration probability and implementation

  • Forecast sales and market potential and establishes business objectives and action plans.

  • Determine the availability of the supply of all products to meet demand and desired product mix, utilizing production to optimize profitability.

  • Manage market research studies (competitive assessment, market data etc), provide necessary information for expansion, product and market development for each region

  • Determine the appropriate customer interaction model (CIM) for each region.

  • Develops recommendations together with other functions for future CAPEX investments into the business.

  • Identify, lead, drive and support change management opportunities aimed at continuous improvement. Take initiative in driving solutions while inspiring entrepreneurialism, innovativeness and collaboration

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum 5 years of sales, marketing and/or business management work experience required

  • Extremely strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel are required.

  • Proven ability to identify business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies and relationships that deliver both top-line and bottom-line results within a diverse and challenging business climate.

  • Strong competency to be able to link commercial, operational and financial business implications

  • Must clearly demonstrate superior communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision makers at all levels at both customers and internal management including executive levels. Must also be comfortable in dealing across cultural boundaries.

Must be willing and able to travel over 25% of the time both domestically and globally.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred

  • MBA is highly desired.

  • Contract negotiation experience preferred

  • P/L management experience preferred

  • Precious metals experience preferred

  • Experience directly managing others preferred
