Where the Chemistry Happens…
As the Site Director for Kankakee, Illinois, you will lead the production activities for the Care Chemicals (EM) and Nutrition/Health (EN) groups and ensure alignment with the business strategies. You will drive for safe operation, continuous improvement, and increased profitability awhile creating an environment that supports the attraction, development, and retention of high quality employees. You will make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a value-added impact to the site.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Utilizing your expertise in leading manufacturing operations, you will:
Lead the Kankakee site to excellence in EHS performance, manufacturing capability, and capital execution, as well as to meet customer expectations in quality, service, and delivery.
Provide leadership in communicating the corporate and business strategies and developing the appropriate culture.
Be accountable for the manufacturing, maintenance and site services, engineering, quality, warehouse, and shipping
Drive a culture where continuous improvement, breakthrough performance, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, quality, equipment optimizations, and reliability.
Maintain an active working relationship with the business group marketing, sales, and research & development groups.
Lead the development and implementation of strategic solutions to site operational, cultural, and organizational challenges (Kankakee Today).
Manage the site’s fixed cost budgets, variable cost optimizations, capital budgets, and project execution.
Maintain positive relations with the community and government agencies.
Ensure compliance with all applicable GMP's and the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
Formulate and recommend policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability to the business

You will use your Chemical Engineering or related technical degree, an understanding of chemical processing (both continuous and batch operations), and a detailed understanding of business financial reporting and tracking to successfully lead Kankakee. Keen problem solving in a matrix organization, experience at a multi-Business Unit site, and an understanding of key performance drivers will equip you to successfully manage changes in strategy.
