BASF Colors & Effects GmbH in Ludwigshafen is part of the Dispersions & Pigments division and is a leading manufacturer of colored and effect pigments for the paint and coatings industry, the plastics sector and applications in packaging, agriculture and cosmetics.

What you can expect

We are looking for a candidate to join our Global Innovation unit and assume responsibility for performing experiments in the area of organic pigment research.

  • You will pursue the goal of developing new products with improved characteristics by taking responsibility for synthesizing and optimizing organic pigments and optimize the synthesis processes in order to develop low cost production methods and transition them into operation.

  • You will organize your work independently and prioritize it in compliance with the goals of your interdisciplinary project team and present your lab results.

  • You will ensure that existing knowledge and knowledge that has been developed is maintained, expanded, shared and archived.

  • You will ensure compliance with the safety and environmental protection rules and regulations and will prepare risk assessments.

  • In addition, you will supervise trainees, apprentices and interns within your unit and issue instructions on safe, goal-oriented working.

What we expect

  • You have successfully completed a formal vocational training program to become a chemistry lab assistant and have experience in organic synthesis and knowledge of safe handling of chemicals, ideally including in organic pigment research.

  • You also have good spoken and written English language skills and are a proficient user of the standard IT-programs.

  • You also impress with your determination and orientation towards goals, and a focus on performance and customers is among your strengths.

  • In addition, you have above-average motivation to tackle new challenges at all times, enjoy working as part of a team and impress with your high levels of independence and flexibility.
