What you can expect

Within our unit Risk Management/ Mergers & Acquisitions, you will identify possibilities of risk minimization in the area of raw materials and will be able to contribute to maximizing profit through the use of financial instruments.

  • You will advise other divisions or business units with inquiries regarding specific hedging and trading programs for raw materials.

  • You will analyze raw materials price risks within the BASF value chain and determine the corresponding effects on results and margins.

  • With other divisions or business units with a focus on the prices of raw materials you will build a network.

  • You will prepare forecasts for prices of raw materials, energy and electricity based on time series analyses and will develop contract-specific price formulas for raw materials.

  • Within your team you will also build a tool set for quantitative analyses.

What we expect

  • You have a degree in business and economics, business administration or economics, mathematics or business informatics, in each case with a focus on quantitative analyses, and have additionally earned a doctorate.

  • Ideally, you have already amassed knowledge of raw materials and energy markets and of value chains in the chemical industry through your previous consulting activities.

  • In addition to experience in project management, you also have solid knowledge of statistical analysis programs and the MS Office applications.

  • You are accustomed to giving professional presentations of your results and are a capable and convincing communicator in both German and English.
