What you can expect

Within our Directory & Trusted Services unit, you will support us in analyzing and resolving complex incidents and technical disruptions and will advise users on problems as they arise within BASF-critical systems.

  • As part of a team of specialists, you will operate server systems that support company-critical security applications and will be a member of the on-call team for these services.

  • In this role, you will be responsible for hardening and operation of the operating systems in use.

  • You will be a member of the on-call team for this service and will additionally be responsible for the continuous further development and evolution of the operating and security measures in use.

  • You will plan, install, configure and commission complex IT systems (hardware/software) and advise your customers as problems and questions arise.

  • Working closely together with our global service providers, you will coordinate the process, taking existing SLAs, OLAs and KPIs (e.g. response time, resolution time, availability, on-call service) into account.

  • As an employee in a security unit, you will constantly question the security of your systems and will review them in cooperation with external partners.

What we expect

  • You have completed a formal technical education with a focus on computer science and have acquired several years of professional experience in an IT environment, specifically in the operation of server platforms in an enterprise setting.

  • You can demonstrate your highly developed knowledge and skills in the area of IT security through practical experience and, ideally, relevant certifications; in addition, you know ITIL and have already successfully applied this framework.

  • In the area of virtualization software, you can apply your solid skills (in the programs vSphere and vCenter, for example) in an exciting working environment.

  • In addition, you have experience with authentication and authorization infrastructure within Windows and Linux systems and are familiar with access and authorization management.

  • You have experience in an enterprise setting and in working with large and complex environments. You are familiar with cooperation and division of labor with multiple providers.

  • You can demonstrate your communication skills in both German and English.
