Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are looking for someone to serve in the Southeast (SE) Hub EHS Team Leader position, based in McIntosh, AL. The individual will be responsible for managing the EHS program at the McIntosh site, a multi-unit facility that manufactures various chemical intermediates used in coatings and plastics. Part of the position involves providing environmental compliance oversight for the 30 SE Hub sites.
EHS Team Leader (1706152) – McIntosh, AL
The primary focus of this role is to lead the McIntosh Site EHS program. The team leader will ensure environmental, health and safety management systems are implemented effectively through ongoing assessments and reviews of programs, resulting in continuous improvement of EHS KPIs and audit results.
In addition, the team leader will supervise a team of EHS professionals, including an administrative assistant, and reports to the SE Hub Director. The successful candidate is tasked with ensuring resources are aligned with site needs and objectives while encouraging skills development.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Represent the EHS organization on the Macintosh site leadership team, providing governance, strategic direction, and alignment with BASF corporate standards.
Serve as a member of the SE Hub Leadership Team.
Share learnings and best practices with other SE Hub team leaders and staff through periodic exchanges, with the outcome of overall improvement of programs and practices.
Lead all environmental initiatives/issues within the SE Hub.
Function as the Hub’s subject matter expert on Environmental related matters and as a liaison to the Expert Services group to provide guidance to other Hub team members.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Engineering or Science; Advanced degree and/or EHS-related certifications a plus.
Professional experience in a Chemical EHS supervisory role preferred
Manufacturing Facility Environmental Permitting experience required
Extensive EHS regulatory, managerial, and technical competencies, with working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations required.
Strong virtual team leadership and delegation skills.
An effective communicator capable of engaging with site and business group management, as well as with State and Federal regulatory agency personnel.
Ability to travel up to 15%.
