We are seeking a professional like you to join our Performance Chemical Division supporting our Engineering Department at the McIntosh, AL Site. In this role, you will assure the proper design, purchase and installation of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards. Areas of responsibility include executing Capital projects for the site in both the Instrument and Electrical disciplines, as well as providing technical expertise to operations and maintenance as required.
As a Instrument and Electrical Engineer, You Create Chemistry By...
Providing capital project Instrumentation and Electrical design for small to medium-sized projects
Providing direction for I/E Designers and third-party I/E engineers when additional resources are required
Obtaining Vendor Quotes and providing technical support for the procurement process for I/E equipment
Interfacing with purchasing for Alliance contracts and coordinating with area Maintenance and Operations personnel
Performing quality checks of all design packages and cross-check between design disciplines
Inspecting offsite fabrication, including factory acceptance tests, and produce issued for construction (IFC) design packages
Ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, as well as providing support to the Central Gulf Regional Service Center as required
Leading site Standards Teams such as Electrical Classification and being responsible for check-out, Commissioning and start-up support for capital projects
If you...
Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Instrument Engineering
Possess 5+ years working within Engineering, Maintenance and Process Improvement environment within a chemical plant
Possess strong organizational skills in the areas of resource planning and task management
