Where the Chemistry Happens…
The position provides technical support for process safety and risk management compliance activities as needed through a shared services concept. The role will be responsible for providing technical and regulatory expertise to maintain OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance through support and program assistance for the McIntosh site. The position will be designated as the PSM regulations subject matter expert for the McIntosh Site, and will be responsible for all Site Level PSM Elements. The incumbent will be required to participate in all BASF PSM internal and external compliance audits conducted for the McIntosh Site.
PSM Compliance Specialist (1702465) – McIntosh, AL
The individual needs to have knowledge (theory and application) of the process safety discipline, or capability to develop the same. Basic knowledge of chemical manufacturing is a plus.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Serve as the Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations subject matter expert for the McIntosh Site.
Be responsible for all Site Level PSM Elements, including the development and management of the McIntosh Site’s PSM Manual.
Participate in all BASF PSM internal and external compliance audits conducted for the Site.
Monitor management of change (MOC) activity on the McIntosh Site.
Track Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) revalidations for the McIntosh Site. Will be required to make reports to the site leadership on PHA revalidation compliance.
Develop/Implement/Monitor the PSM Roadmap for each Unit to ensure a standardized process for demonstrating compliance on the McIntosh Site.
Act as the Site lead during any PSM regulatory audit.
Work with each unit to evaluate current and future PSM boundaries. Work to make boundary determinations as consistent as possible between Units at the McIntosh Site.
Develop and/or conduct PSM training for the McIntosh Site as applicable.
Collaborate with the BASF Process Safety Center of Expertise and support organizations to keep McIntosh current on any changes to PSM regulations.
Provide the McIntosh Site Leadership Team with regular reports on the PSM status of the Site and current PSM related issues.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science required.
Minimum 3 years’ experience implementing Process Safety Management program elements
Process Safety Management regulatory knowledge is desired.
Experience/training in Process Hazards Analysis a plus.
Ability to implement process safety programs in a chemical manufacturing arena is required.
Basic computer skills (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, database management) are essential.
Customer Focus, Team Leadership and Teamwork, Entrepreneurial Acting/Initiative, Results Orientation, Communication, and Work Management skills are a necessity to succeed in this role.
