Where the Chemistry Happens…

This position is part of the Customer Experience Team at BASF Canada, a group that is accountable for analyzing trends and customer-related constraints, identifying areas of improvement, implementing innovative solutions and, in turn, eliminating internal barriers, which may be hindering business colleagues’ focus on maximizing sales and growth opportunities in Canada. The team’s sole customer focus is to make it easier, simpler, and less involved for the end customer. Through the implementation of innovative solutions in Canada, this role will support one of the team’s goals of sharing best practices across BASF.

The successful candidate will seek to identify and drive supplier diversity efforts in Canada, in close collaboration with the North America (NA) Regional Supplier Diversity Team. This includes understanding local footprint and needs, being a spokesperson throughout the local communities and providing expertise and insight (e.g., Aboriginal community). Additionally, in partnership with FBS, Supply Chain, Logistics & Transportation Procurement in Canada, this role will focus on identifying quick wins, leveraging on one customer’s and/or business’ success to improve the effectiveness of what and how we do things across BASF.

Formula for Success: You Will…

· Support the NA “Customers First. Winning Together” strategy through analysis of the local suppliers network including, but not limited to, Element Fleet company vehicles, local utilities companies, waste management, and sustainability, and gaining an in-depth understanding of BASF’s products and businesses.

· Play a key role in identifying local purchase requisition requirements for the corporate headquarters office, as well as other sites, as needed.

· Partner with the greater FBS group in Canada to periodically analyze suppliers’ feasibility vs. businesses’ purchase demand, in order to optimize costs incurred while taking advantage of local procurement opportunities.

· Provide support to the Canadian O2C (Order to Cash) and P2P (Purchase to Pay) Liaison to analyze vendor-/supplier-related constraints while driving enhancement efforts.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Logistics.

  • Minimum 4 years of prior relevant professional experience.

  • Strong analytical, research, project management, and communication skills combined with ability to present and influence the implementation of new ideas.

  • Team-oriented with ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across functions, businesses, and external suppliers.

  • Capability of handling multiple priorities and simultaneous deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%, subject to business needs and changing requirements.
