Area TPS Leader, Milling and Semi-Finishing (1701739)
We are seeking an Area TPS Leader for the Milling and Semi-Finishing Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, stable production in the Milling and Semi-Finishing plants through the implementation of Toyota Production System (TPS) principles, tools, and techniques.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner. Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care®, and OSHA regulations by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.
Learn, teach, and implement TPS: Standard work, 5S/Visual Management, Mistake proofing, Autonomous Maintenance, Problem solving.
Establish KPI’s for the Milling and Semi-Finishing Operations and integrate them into a Visual Management System for the associated process areas. Monitor KPI’s and implements corrective and preventative actions as needed.
Establish product related cycle times/throughputs by asset and integrate them into production plans and the area Visual Management Systems.
Provide daily production plans and priorities to Finishing contact supervisors and the Quality Labs. Communicate throughput status to production planners and utilizes SAP to confirm production for the Milling/Semi-Finishing Operations.
Ensure Environmental regulatory compliance through development and implementation of training and standard work around compliance at the operator, working crew leader and contact supervisor levels.
Responsible for documenting and maintaining Asset Effectiveness data for the Milling and Semi-Finishing Operations including uploading the data into the Global AE tools.
Coordinate updating of work procedures with contact supervisors, working crew leaders and finishing operators.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 10 years manufacturing experience required. A BS/BA with 2 or more years is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience in a chemical plant environment is required.
Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must interact effectively with all levels of personnel in a matrix global organization. Should be well versed in problem-solving methodologies and be able to train others. Needs a passion for continuous improvement and eliminating obstacles to productivity everyday.
Should have the demonstrated ability to utilize continuous improvement tools and methodologies to drive sustainable improvements. That includes a good understanding of 5S, visual management, KPIs, standard work and other TPS tools. Must be able to effectively measure and analyze trends with a focus on continuous improvement.
Experience in Pigment Finishing Operations
Ex perience implementing TPS principles in a manufacturing environment
Experience using SAP
Experience working as a Production Supervisor/Production Engineer
