Purpose of the Job -
Guide production shift activities, as necessary, to accomplish objectives in the most safe, economical and technically feasible fashion.
Principal Responsibilities -
Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care®, and EPA Performance Track initiatives by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.
Be knowledgeable of and follow all Environmental, Health and Safety practices including but not limited to: manage waste movements according to satellite and/or 90-day accumulation requirements, inspect air contaminant sources and institute corrective action for out-of-spec conditions, prevent releases into the sewer and/or stormwater systems by following BMPs, activate BASF emergency response procedures in case of spills or other emergencies.
Execution of daily area activities ensuring production deadlines are met in a safe and timely manner.
Participate in training of operators.
Able to cross train in other areas.
Responsible for daily status completion and submission.
Ensure batch card review, completion and submission.
Ensure that all SOPs are followed.
Assist in equipment inspections and calibration checks.
Identification of equipment malfunctions and maintenance notifications.
Assist in achieving site's COPA requirements and KPIs.
Housekeeping and 5S sustainability.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience -
High School Diploma or equivalent,
2 years of production experience required. Preferred in a Pigment manufacturing environment.
Experience in chemical packaging equipment preferred
Computer skills and mechanically inclined.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
