We are currently searching for a motivated Site Development Managers for our BASF Agricultural Solutions business (AP) in Hannibal, MO and Beaumont, TX.
We develop and produce innovative chemistries providing herbicides to assists farmers in meeting the growing demand for improved agricultural productivity. BASF Agricultural Solutions’ mission is to help today’s growers meet the challenges of tomorrow’s hungry world.
Site Development Manager (1700893)
As a Site Development Manager, you will be responsible for serving on the Site Leadership Team. You will establish and maintain strong relationships to collaborate with local government officials; such as Mayors, City Council, Superintendents, School Board Trustees and local University Staff. You will also be responsible for providing strategic advertisement plans that position the company with a positive image in the community, and that recognize us as an employer of choice. You will develop and deliver site strategies and operational activities aimed at optimizing the capability / effectiveness of site organizations. In addition, you will ensure that the site’s training needs are effectively defined, provided and coordinated, thus ensuring regulatory compliance and meeting operational objectives.

Strengthen partnerships in the community through effective branding
In close cooperation with BASF's Corporate Communications Department:
Support the site's "license to operate" through strategic communications that positively influence perceptions and attitudes of BASF by local opinion leaders, government officials and the general public
Lead the site’s charitable contributions program and manage the respective budget; Ensure efforts address critical needs of the community and provide mutual benefit to stakeholders and to BASF in terms of measuring social impact
Support a positive public relations and media image by maintaining strong relationships with local key media; Develop and disseminate news releases, news conferences or other media outreach for BASF
Lead an Employee Community Involvement Program that engages employees in community relations activities
Manage and implement, through the development of teams, all special events and site milestone activities; Manage company participation in all community fundraisers and develop appropriate local advertisements that will promote BASF as a strong community supporter
Strengthen local community college partnerships to impact the educational curriculum in colleges
Lead site efforts to create common requirements and improved hiring collaboration for manufacturing jobs
Partner with local universities to implement Internships for skilled crafts
Implement and maintain I/E and Maintenance training programs
Maintain contractor operator training program
Partner with Learning & Organizational Development to create a continuing learning approach for site operators, I/E techs and maintenance techs
Partner with local colleges and key city leaders in order to attract, develop and retain women, minorities and veterans in manufacturing operator, I/E and Maintenance roles
Partner with school and community leaders to enhance career and technical education awareness and promote the BASF Brand
Represent the site on boards of local organizations, as applicable

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
High School Diploma or GED, with 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing
Knowledge and experience in communications, media relations, community and school relations, brand management, and workforce development
Experience working within the chemical industry
Must be a proactive self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills; Must be able to develop and maintain beneficial and aligned relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including BASF employees and management, and external community stakeholders
Overall excellent oral and written communications skills
High degree of interpersonal and organizational skills
