Where the Chemistry Happens…
As a member of our maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the installation and repair of instrument and electrical equipment within the site. Additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator may include generation of work notifications, work order planning, requisitioning, SAP reports, and special projects.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Perform installation and troubleshooting of electrical, instrument, and process equipment as needed, to diagnose problems and determined necessary repairs of replacement.
This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing instrument and electrical problems associated with process control instruments, Honeywell DCS 3000 system, SIS, and electrical equipment operating at 480 volts and below.
Review I&E maintenance activities as required and reporting deficiencies to supervision.
Assist supervisor in estimating, planning and procurement of required materials for both maintenance and capital activities of the Pasadena site.
Review work orders and equipment history to identify and correct recurring problems.
Have responsibility for special projects as assigned.
Keep abreast of instrument and electrical equipment of the Pasadena site.
Comply with and help enforce all company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
May be required to work with waste that is deemed to be hazardous by RCRA or other regulation.
Lead training of I&E Technicians, as necessary.
Learn and maintain computer skills to support BASF programs.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator which may include but not limited to generation of work notifications, work order planning, requisitioning, SAP reporting, IN Tools updates, and special projects.
Observe all safety rules and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
Minimum of high school education plus five (5) years’ experience as a first class craftsperson in Chemical Plant maintenance with formal education in vocational school/apprentice program (AAS a plus) required OR
Minimum of ten (10) years plant maintenance experience in a Chemical Plant environment can be substituted for vocational school/apprentice program required.
DCS and SIS proficiency required.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities required.
Strong leadership, communications, and human relations skills.
Demonstrated performance as a team player and high motivation.
Demonstrated ability to solve basic mathematical problems, reading comprehension, and mechanical aptitude.
Highly disciplined to do steady work and meeting schedule (including overtime and callout).
Successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain TWIC certification.
BASF recognizes institutions of higher education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
