We are seeking an Agriculture Biologist, Herbicide Development, to join our team and become a part of our Biology R&D greenhouse and laboratory herbicide evaluation team. Key Peer Groups: Biology, Sample Logistics, Formulations, Tech Service and Marketing

Agriculture Biologist, Herbicide Development (1700480)

Be involved in all experimental study aspects including experimental design, plant cultivation, chemical application, maintenance, data collection, analysis, and presentation of results. Help prepare and present herbicide related training demonstrations and act as a liaison between Biology and the R&D Sample Support group. Supporting product sample forecasting, procurement and shipping operations.

· Conduct greenhouse, growth chamber and laboratory experiments supporting herbicide product evaluation and development.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor of Science in weed science, agronomy, horticulture or other agricultural science discipline with at least 2 years of industry experience required OR Master's degree in weed science, agronomy, horticulture or other agricultural science required.

  • Working knowledge of herbicide chemistry and its use in crop and non-crop markets required.

  • Knowledge of plant growth development and research methods required.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects through completion.

  • Must have ability to keep accurate records and follow research protocols as instructed.

  • Effective computer skills, specifically using MS Office programs.

  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license or willingness to obtain one in timely manner

  • Willing to get a valid North Carolina Pesticide Applicators License.

Also Desired…

  • Previous experience with conducting herbicide greenhouse, laboratory and field trials in a research environment.

  • Previous experience with both weed and crop species (corn, cotton, soybean, wheat, rice, canola).
