We are currently searching for a motivated Product Manager with a focus on Soybean Residual Herbicides for our Crop Protection business (AP) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

Product Manager - Soybean Residual Herbicides (1700832)

As a Product Manager of the Soybean Residual Herbicides, you will be responsible for developing and implementing business plans for assigned products and market segments, as well as managing the day to day operational business. You will also be responsible for developing market introduction plans for new and existing herbicide products, with a focus on internal coordination and external development & implementation of positioning, messaging, and value proposition.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Monitor, record and report events occurring in assigned markets; Collect and record marketplace intelligence related to 1) competitors, their products and marketing programs, 2) trends, threats and market opportunities, 3) customer expectations, and 4) any other events/activities potentially affecting opportunities for the company to successfully implement business plans

  • Coordinate with other key internal and external groups to ensure product-related plans are implemented

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to Marketing Communications Specialist and Communication Agency in the execution of advertising, promotions, sponsorships, special events, collateral marketing and other promotional activities, with an overall objective of conveying a unified, distinctive leadership presence in the marketplace

  • Manage assigned product(s) short and long-term supply, forecasting, and profitability by coordinating a balance between short-term operating results and long-term market share development

  • Strive to consistently motivate the sales force and distributors by keeping them informed about products, product performance, and our go-to-market strategy

  • Support other members of the sales & marketing team to help ensure that company sales and financial goals are achieved

  • Develop and update product concepts detailing mid and long-term strategies for assigned products, submitted for supervisor approval

  • Actively participate as marketing representative on Project Teams, providing input for justification, approval, development, and introduction of new projects for commercialization

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 years of marketing, sales, and/or technical support experience

  • Proven business acumen and ability to strategically analyze multiple factors, and summarize into concise, creative plans to reach financial goals

  • Able and willing to travel up to 25%, primarily domestically

  • MS / MBA Degree

  • 8 years of marketing, sales, and/or technical support experience

  • 5 years of experience the in agri-business industry

  • Broader experience across industry segments, including understanding of the soybean herbicide and crop protection markets
