Wherethe Chemistry Happens…
We are seeking a creative and innovative Scientist who will be responsible for contributing to crop-centric research activities. This research will focus on the needs of BASF customers and operating divisions and will include areas important for plant science such as crop biology, diseases, and/or pests.
The successful candidate will conduct and/or coordinate research activities within diverse research teams and across global BASF sites. The scientist will work closely with other team members to plan experiments, analyze and interpret data, document findings, communicate results, and contribute to developing new innovative ideas. Interest in working on diverse, rapidly evolving projects is essential. The position is part of BASF Bioscience in the Plant Science group.

Ingredientsfor Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’sdegree required in Biological Science or a related field with a minimum of5 years of professional experience, OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of3 years of professional experience, OR a Ph.D. with post-doctoralexperience preferred.
Researchexperience with direct relevance for plants or crop systems. This couldinclude plant science, microbiology, entomology, or plant pathology.
Demonstratedbackground in planning and conducting research activities, andinterpreting experimental data and document findings.
Experiencein analyzing datasets from different data areas (molecular tophysiological), specifically related to the analysis of “-omics” datasets.
Provenexamples of innovative thinking.
Abilityto work in a team environment encompassing multiple disciplines andcultures.
Experiencecommunicating research results and their impact to technical/non-technicalaudiences.
Abilityto travel approximately 10% of the time.
Experiencewith plant genomics, molecular biology, physiology, and biochemistry is aplus.
Exposurewith conducting research in multiple crop, model plant, and non-plantsystems is preferred.
Backgroundin working on crops in an agriculture system is desired.
