We are seeking a Business Unit Controller to join our Monomers team.

The BASF Monomers business in North America is a highly profitable business unit which generated $2.5B in revenue. The BU Controller is part of the Isocyanates and Inorganics management team and as such provides input and participates in making key management decisions of the business as well as being accountable for the effectiveness of key processes related to production, supply chain and marketing/sales.

You will hold a critical role within the controlling organization of this business and provides advice and counsel to other members of the management team regarding customer profitability, fixed costs, capital spending and cash flow consideration. This includes the analysis and communication of monthly trends and the scope of activities involves the interaction and coordination with controlling units in other regions.

Formula for Success: You Will…

· Lead the creation of realistic, yet challenging budgets for the business, formulating both operational and strategic plans, including the evaluation of strategic capital investment projects.

· Provide operational support to the business, coordinating multidisciplinary functions in their interaction towards achieving and maintaining a value-driven organization.

· Proactively support Strategic Business Unit management in establishing actions that will translate different coordinated initiatives into the desired outcomes for the business as measured in the key KPIs.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

· Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, accounting, economics or related field plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in Finance, Accounting and/or Controlling with a proven track record of accomplishments; MBA with a concentration in Finance considered a strong plus, Professional certification (CPA / CMA) also desired

· Expert knowledge of accounting theory and practice, cost accounting and systems, budgets, financial/economic analysis, planning and internal control methodologies required

· Extensive experience in strategic, economic and operational quantitative analysis, forecasting, financial planning, budgeting and data modeling.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate, interact and influence effectively with all levels of personnel and management including appropriate oral and written presentations required.

· Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills, along with a team player mentality.

· Experience with enterprise accounting software (e.g. SAP) and MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) required.

· Individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to identify and implement process improvements. Project Management, operational (manufacturing, supply chain and/or marketing & sales) and/or corporate environment experience considered a plus.
