Formula for Success: You Will be…
Responsible for providing Electrical design support for new chemical plants, major expansions, debottlenecking of existing plants and infrastructure facilities including conception, design, and execution phases of projects. Technical direction is provided by the Site Electrical Engineer. This position participates in teams, internal committees and ad hoc assignments to represent the Electrical discipline. This includes interaction with other sites and North American personnel to review, validate, and provide feedback on new and revised BASF Technical Standards, Corporate policies and procedures.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: You Will…
Associates Degree in a technical discipline with at least 5 years experience as an Electrical Designer in an industrial plant environment
Knowledge of electrical equipment and systems 13.8KV and below, including Motor Control Centers and Substations
Experience with design and specification of electrical system components (power and controls) and control panel layout and design
Experience with Microstation or AutoCAD , with the ability to develop, review and maintain electrical drawings (one-line drawings, etc.) and diagrams
Knowledge and familiarity with National Electric Code
Computer proficiency with engineering software to perform basic engineering calculations
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience with SKM
Working experience in a Chemical plant environment
Knowledge of electrical area classification
Understanding of best industry practices regarding maintenance activities and work processes
Knowledge of the BASF Project Execution Roadmap
Proficient in use of SAP
Ability to interact and communicate at a high competency level in manufacturing technical discussions
