This position functions as support for Urethanes Products. The potential exists for multiple internal and external customer interactions to assist in the efficient coordination of nonconformance reporting, internal and external audits and document management. In addition to providing administrative and technical support, this position exists as a support resource for the Quality Management Systems, providing floor level standardization of Quality processes across all shifts, including direct instruction via presentations into the organization.
Selected candidate will be performing the Steam Cabinet Molding, Physical Testing and Wet Chemistry of E-TPU, Infinergy X products in the E-TPU laboratory.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Required: Bachelor of Science or High School Diploma 5 years of experience. BASF recognizes institutions of higher education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent 5 years related laboratory experience.
proficient in general laboratory techniques, have experience in performing a variety of methods utilizing both wet chemical and physical testing methods and performing instrument validations.
know how to: perform validation protocols and follow Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
handle laboratory projects and investigations.
summarize, report and/or review findings.
perform daily tasks within laboratory to ensure compliance with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Good Laboratory Practices.
good organizational and time management skills.
hands on knowledge of physical testing equipment such as MFI, tensile/compression testing, hardness and thickness testing, as well as small scale extruder experience.
experience with basic laboratory equipment such as balances, and titration equipment.
comfortable working with hazardous materials and understanding the proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal and safety equipment.
must be knowledgeable of MSDS's and the metric system.
able to work independently and interact with the Plant Operating personnel group on a regular basis both written and verbally.
the ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
the ability to communicate effectively with other employees within the organization.
the ability to read, analyze, and interpret s technical procedures and applicable governmental regulations.
must be proficient and comfortable working with a variety of software systems for instrument control and reporting of results and well as with Microsoft word, Excel, and Power Point.
must be comfortable performing set routine tasks in an established time frame as well as working on independent projects requiring detailed reporting and observations.
ability to work a Rotating Shift which may vary from a 8 to 12 hour schedule.
