Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are looking for a Security Technology Manager (STM) to serve as the Corporate Security function leader for the convergence of electronic security systems, information protection initiatives, digital security investigations, and incident response for BASF. To succeed in this role, the incumbent must be able to understand, integrate, and align Corporate Security strategy with the initiatives of BASF’s Information Security, IT Services, and Process Automation groups to ensure that overall physical and digital strategies and programs provide complimentary security processes that cover all gaps and risks.
The STM’s role encompasses various degrees of complexity and necessitates a higher level of organizational skill, composure, and charisma. The work material (e.g., investigations or crisis management response) can involve high-level, sensitive matters that require sound judgment and discretion. He/she will work independently but as a member of a larger corporate function and must possess both self-starter and team-player skills.

Formula for Success: You Will…
Understand ever-evolving and increasingly sophisticated security threats to business assets and implement best practices and technology to mitigate them. Execute risk assessments in coordination with Region Security Managers and advise business and leaders in developing security plans to manage risk.
Create and maintain the region’s electronic security standards and guideline, including development of security system asset lifecycle planning for related technology and equipment, and appropriate application of technological security solutions to mitigate risk.
Conduct independent and impartial investigations of security-related incidents and allegations in coordination with appropriate functions (e.g., IT, Compliance, HR, and Corporate Audit). Collect and preserve electronic or digital evidence in support of Corporate Security investigations.
Serve as a key member of the Corporate Security team and support the Centers of Expertise (COE) for Information Protection, Information Security, and Investigations, and conceptualize, create, and implement strategic security programs and initiatives.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or applicable technology field preferred; Master’s degree a plus.
A minimum of 10 years combined experience in an information security and corporate security (physical security or loss prevention) department or equivalent within a corporate setting. 3-5 years of experience with IT systems, networks, and digital security practices preferred
Significant experience with digital forensics and investigation tools (e.g., eDiscovery) required
Strong analytical, team leadership, project management, and communication skills; industry certifications for information security such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) a plus.
Familiarization of physical and information security industry regulations and professional organizations (ASIS, ISC2, ISACA, NISPOM, ISO 27001, NIST 800).
