As part of the Marketing team, reporting directly to the Customer Marketing Specialist, the MarCom Specialist will coordinate regional work by crop and country, build marketing communication plans, execute tactics with Vendor support, and manage multiple campaigns and projects for BASF Vegetable Seeds in the US (mostly), Canada, and Australia/NZ. This position can be remote, but must reside in California with a commutable (driving distance) to Acampo, CA or Davis, CA. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
The role is highly independent with lots of virtual interaction. We are looking for someone with Entrepreneurial drive who is good at creating, managing and executing marketing communication tactics at varying levels of complexity with multiple stakeholders.
Marketing Collateral development and delivery with agencies– traditional (ads, brochures, sales tools such as give-aways, etc.) as well as Digital Content (videos, for example) and Social Media.
Strategic Planning & Execution of Communications tactics, including global coordination.
Organization of exhibitions and events.
Management of vendors.
Administration of budgets and maintenance of internal databases (QuickBase, Imagebank, Sharepoint...).
There are 3 major jobs in this position:
Closely collaborate with Marketing, Sales and other stakeholders to prepare a robust yearly Marketing Communications plan with campaigns designed generate the demand of our products. This includes traditional and online content and delivery.
Manage budget and develop/lead processes to support Sales Specialists with sales tools materials (i.e. customer gifts, trade show give-aways, sponsorships).
Project Management and tactical execution of marketing actions (with Vendors, internal teams including global marketing colleagues, and individually).
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, General Business or relevant degree.
Three or more years of experience in Marketing and/or Communications with target setting, processes, set up and execution
Three years project management and budget tracking experience
Marketing Communications planning and executing
Project & Vendor Management
Solid understanding Marketing concepts and Social Media for business
Awareness of working in a matrix organization, ability to create and sustain relationships with multiple stakeholders
Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with creative tools such as Adobe Photoshop and content management practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates; Ability to manage time and resources effectively to achieve goals.
Excellent communication skills, including writing and editing campaign materials, again with Vendor support and global coordination where appropriate.
