Maintenance Technician – 2201624 – Ames, IA


This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all mechanical related functions and/or equipment in a manner that allows the plant to operate safely, effectively and efficiently.

  • Nature and Scope:

  • Perform necessary maintenance and repairs on equipment used in the manufacturing process (including fork trucks, pumps, mixers, tanks, filling equipment, conveyors, and all other related equipment as needed).

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as needed.

  • Record all repairs and maintenance performed to work orders from SAP.

  • Troubleshoot and prepare preventative maintenance recommendations and timelines.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run smoothly.

  • Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate personal goals for process safety.

  • Work to ensure a positive, trusting, and open process safety culture.

  • Ensure personal compliance with all aspects of the Site’s Process Safety program.

  • Comply with facility policy in reporting and investigation of near misses and all process safety incidents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 2 years of experience in maintenance

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous courses taken in machine repair, electrical, hydraulics or pneumatics

  • Basic computer skills

  • Able to work a flexible schedule
