Machine Operator (1904288) – Amherst, NY
Where the Chemistry Happens
This position is responsible for Tests and repairs ore-crushing and ore-transporting machinery. Also, starts machines and equipment, such as feeders, jaw crushers, conveyor belts, and suction dust collectors. Observes machines and equipment in operation for defects and malfunctions in the warehouse.
Formula for Success
Responsible for safe operation of equipment in his charge and in the care and maintenance of shop equipment in general
Operate saws, ironworkers, benders, punches, stud welders, drill presses, press brake machine vulcanizing equipment, shot blaster, portable hand tools, Time saver, etc. (Internal Training offered)
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Assemble or install miscellaneous components, hardware and rubber products on all systems
Operate tow motor, swing cranes, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment
Operate his/her area/function in accordance and awareness of Corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
Take an active role in training all employees and conducting routine awareness programs in his/her area of responsibility in the EHS requirements and policies to ensure that all employees are adequately trained for their function.
Routinely report on relevant EHS performance metrics for his/her subordinates
