Where the Chemistry Happens…
The Business Applications Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple programs and applications within the CCP/R business. S/he would be involved in system analysis, testing, debugging, training, and implementation of systems as dictated by company projects. This will also require transfer of data from existing Lotus Notes databases and Excel-based tools to integrated systems able to meet business needs effectively. In addition, any existing information from the previously used tools must be migrated to new applications that have been deemed suitable for historical reference. This role will also be responsible for ongoing continuous improvement of existing applications within CCP/R, and will work closely with key members from the business to troubleshoot issues, identify needs, and deploy upgrades where applicable. The Specialist will work closely with IT and members of the commercial organization of CCP/R including Technology, Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Controlling, and Product Management.

Formula for Success: You Will…
Migrate existing data sources to more current applications that fit the business needs. Work with the business to identify applications or tools requiring migration. Help to identify areas of potential improvement in the areas of knowledge management, retention, and workflow processes. Multiple applications may need to be identified to suit the business needs. Provide recommendations for migration with respect to existing framework.
Be responsible for rolling out new applications to the global team where applicable. Coordinate training sessions and help key users to use the tools and apply them to their current position. Set up new accounts and onboard new staff.
Maintain continuous improvement of existing applications such as Refinery Profile, Refinery Returns, Lynks, CRM, and SharePoint. Identify and troubleshoot errors within these systems and serve as a liaison between the business and IT to resolve any potential issues. Work with IT to implement upgrades where applicable to any modules, and be responsible for user acceptance testing to ensure successful deployments of these updates when necessary.
Be responsible for ongoing maintenance of applications to keep data current within all applications.
Meet key milestones for application roll-out and provide updates to members of the leadership team on a frequent basis to communicate current timelines and path forward.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; in lieu of degree, equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Background in refining catalysts is a plus.
Programming knowledge in Microsoft database applications preferred.
SAP experience and knowledge desired.
Self-motivated and capable of learning the CCP/R business and its existing applications quickly.
Experience and proven record in successfully working with cross-functional teams to achieve key project and business objectives.
Ability to identify gaps and needs to meet key business/project objectives, and work with teams to develop key tasks milestone/project plans, and implement those plans.
Superior communication, interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision-makers.
Ability to work with others from a wide range of backgrounds/functions in a team format. Excellent listening skills, ability to foster the environment of creativity/openness to new ideas, and enable resolution of issues while preserving team effectiveness.
