E&I Technician (1802952) – Attapulgus, GA
The BASF Attapulgus, Georgia site manufactures catalyst for the global refining industry. You will provide E&I support to BASF Attapulgus Operations with a Safety-First mindset. This role includes but is not limited installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and instrumentation in an industrial plant; including power distribution, motor controls, PLC’s, wiring, process controls, flow meters, level transmitters, conductivity and PH meters. Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
Read blueprints, P&ID's, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
Repair and troubleshoot analog and discrete instrument loops.
Effectively use typical test and calibration equipment, including pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, mA calibrators, T/C calibrators, digital and analog multi-meters, meggers, and laptops for equipment communication.
Follow step-by-step calibration procedures.
Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data.
Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC 3 phase motor controls as well as 120 VAC control circuits.
Troubleshoot PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.
Troubleshoot pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring equipment, pneumatic controls, chart recorders, water analytical equipment (including pH/ORP, conductivity, solenoids, limit and proximity switches)
Strong personal safety philosophy.
Team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.
Willingness to work overtime and respond to call-out after hours and weekends when needed.
Detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills.
Lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 25 lbs.
Sitting, standing (in place), walking, and using arm/leg control.
Bending, kneeling, squatting, and crawling.
Wrist turning and finger manipulation.
Climbing vertical, fixed ladders with ladder cages (up to 178 ft. structure)
Climbing portable step and extension ladders
Pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs.
Twisting, turning, and reaching above shoulder level
Simple to firm grasping

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
High School Diploma or GED
One year of formal vocational/technical training in Electrical/Electronics field
Four years of Electromechanical and/or Instrumentation & Electrical experience
Associate degree in Electrical Maintenance/Technology from a technical school or college
Military service in a related field
Experience with DCS systems
Experience with high voltage switching equipment (4160V and above)
Fabrication, wiring and hook up experience of Instrumentation and Electrical equipment to preferred
