Senior EH&S Specialist – Industrial Hygiene (1804225) – Battle Creek, MI

BASF is seeking a Senior EH&S Specialist like you to drive and promote environmental health (air, water, and waste) program management by ensuring that environmental regulations and workplace safety standards comply in accordance to corporate and regulatory requirements for our manufacturing and technical communities.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your educational and/or professionalbackground you will apply your specialized knowledge of chemistry/toxicology,industrial hygiene and biological science to identify and propose mitigation foroccupational and environmental hygiene hazards (stressors) that could lead toinjury, illness, or impairment (e.g. chemical exposure, hazard communication,hearing conservation, indoor air quality, lock-out/tag-out, personal protectiveequipment (PPE), respiratory protection, etc.), conduct workplace assessments,investigations and hazard identification, and lead responsible management ofcorporate, local, state and federal programs and initiatives to improveworkplace operations and control hazards (e.g. Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA)).

  • Successfully engaging across theorganization, you will proactively identify and prioritize opportunities,develop sustainable solutions, execute operational plans, and effectively managebusiness relationships designed to champion continuous improvement and overallsafety performance.

  • Your analytical and problem-solvingabilities will be essential as you navigate complex audit, compliance, andregulatory processes while managing competingpriorities.

  • Demonstrating your exceptional safetyorientation will be vital as you collaborate and interface with businesspartners and functional teams where the ability to gain cooperation iscritical.

  • Professional certification(s) in Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or otherrelevant subject area is highlydesirable.
