Lab Technician III-Pilot Plant (1803445) – Beachwood, OH
This position will be located at the Catalyst Research Center in Beachwood, Ohio. The successful candidate will operate pilot equipment and conduct pilot scale experiments through routine and non-routine procedures for the support of research, development, and production activities and ensure that all equipment is in safe working order.
Accurately prepares and documents the experiment conditions and equipment configuration, daily testing results, and communicates the results to the supervisor.
Resolves minor problems, recognizes when results are not meeting expectations and notifies the supervisor.
Enters and follows-up on maintenance and repair work orders of pilot equipment and instrumentation to ensure that all equipment and instrumentation are in safe working order.
Keeps inventory of raw materials and products and notifies the supervisor when raw materials are short supplied.
Maintains housekeeping in the lab and pilot plant areas.
Identifies any hazards and participates in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) programs, reporting incidents and near misses.
Ships and Receives raw materials and products.
Performs Chemical Catalyst sample preparations in the laboratory and pilot plant scale (100 g to 20 kg).
Performs necessary mathematical calculations with results frequently requiring additional interpretation.
Has a keen sense of attention to detail and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
Basic proficiency in Chemistry, with strict adherence to established safety standards required.
Proficiency in MS Office software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced technical environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Lift up to 50 lbs.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
High School Diploma or GED
Three years of laboratory or chemical plant production experience.
Basic proficiency in working with laboratory or chemical plant production equipment (e.g. tools, pumps, tubing, heating tanks, drying ovens, and other related process equipment)
Experience operating, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pilot scale equipment.
Experience handling and working with chemicals in a pilot plant environment.
Experience with pilot processing equipment including extruding, tableting, milling, spray drying, stirred tank, drying and calcining equipment.
