Where the Chemistry Happens…
The Sales Support Specialist – Bilingual (Spanish) is a member of the BASF Corporation - Construction Systems Customer Service Department. S/he will work closely with internal partners and third-party logistics providers to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations in fulfilling orders, providing post shipment updates, and responding to inquiries to both internal/external customers in the U.S. and Mexico.
The Sales Support Specialist will take ownership for the full order-to-cash process and will have primary responsibility for our import order process in supporting domestic customers.
This position is a key individual contributor with a strong ability to work well in a team environment. The learning and performance objectives for this position include product, process and procedural knowledge, as well as a high level of business acumen. Formula for Success: You Will…
Manage the import order process in supporting domestic customers.
Hold responsibility for executing order-to-cash.
Support customers and colleagues through broad knowledge of our policies and processes
Own the customer experience.
Display working knowledge of domestic and international Order-to-Cash process and sub-processes.
Prioritize responsibilities by balancing short- and medium-term objectives while successfully ensuring completion of routine job duties.
Hold decision-making authority, dependent within a Terms of Reference and independent.
Build rapport with customers, internal functions, and external service providers to better understand what can be done to improve internal and external processes and procedures.
Resolve many, sometimes conflicting, issues in a professional, confident, timely manner while performing routine tasks.
Initiate necessary action required to remove any obstacles that may impact BASF's ability to satisfy customer requirements.
Manage credits/debits/returns as assigned by Customer Service Team Lead to support the customer experience.
Review daily reports to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Utilize Non-Conformance Management System for non-conformance tracking and to identify opportunities for corrective and preventative actions.
Support BASF Construction Systems Customer Service Team members and processes
Represent Customer Service on special projects as assigned by Customer Service Team Lead.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Preserve positive image of self and company, even in difficult and stressful situations.
Travel to supplier, customer, and BASF sites as required.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree with experience in a Customer Service, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, or Sales role.
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently is required.
Customer Service or Supply Chain experience is preferred.
Experience with import/export processes is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Computer literate with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, business acumen, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Experience with SAP or another ERP system is preferred.
APICS certification is a plus.
IATA/IMDG Certification desired.
