Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a knowledgeable resource and concrete technologist to secure concrete-related specifications and projects for BASF's innovative high-performance concrete technologies by developing, supporting, and implementing pull-through strategies to the A/E community, including structural analysis and design to support the use of fibers in concrete. In addition to interacting with engineers and architects, the resource will provide technical support and work with sales/concrete producers/contractors to facilitate the use of innovative high-performance concrete technologies.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your significant educational and professional background in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering, you will support the growth of innovative, high-performance concrete technologies through new product specifications, in-person events/presentations/webinars and other promotional activities.

  • Your strong concrete knowledge and construction industry experience will be a valued asset as you perform structural analysis/design to provide fiber-reinforced concrete solutions for industrial slabs-on-ground, pavements, and underground precast concrete utility structures in lieu of specific rebar/welded-wire reinforcement of competitive fiber products.

  • Successfully engaging outside the organization, you will cultivate relationships and convey an industry leadership role in the concrete construction marketplace through active participation in industry groups such as ACI, ASTM International, PCI, NPCA, and NCSE.

  • Your working knowledge of applicable codes and standards will be essential as you provide engineering expertise on construction materials and methods specifically related to concrete admixtures and fiber reinforcement, and troubleshoot concrete performance issues.

  • Your ability to work in a team-environment while collaborating for success is critical as you manage a third-party outsourced engineering program and coordinate the development of relevant collateral field data and case studies to support specification-related activities.

  • Your solid commitment to a safe working environment is required as you will consider safety in all aspects of design and construction.

  • Partnering with other business units across BASF, you will work with the field sales force to secure business with new and existing accounts.
