What you can expect

For our motivated, dynamic and steadily growing international team in the department Financial Reporting we are looking for an Accountant (m/f/d) to support us in the Accounting for the Spanish BASF Group companies. As an accountant you will take care of the general ledger and thereby form the interface in the financial sector.

  • The autonomous and punctual preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and monthly group reporting will be one of your core tasks.

  • Furthermore, you will support the local finance department with the monthly VAT advance notification as well as the corresponding statistical reports.

  • You will answer internal and external requests for reporting.

  • In accounting matters, you will act as the central point of contact for our subsidiaries, the sub-ledgers and the central financial units of BASF.

What we expect

  • You hold a business degree with a focus on Accounting / Controlling or a successfully completed commercial apprenticeship with corresponding professional experience.

  • Ideally you possess first work experience in external accounting as well as knowledge in the financial statements IFRS.

  • In our intercultural teams you can prove your very good knowledge of English as well as good knowledge in the Spanish language. German is an advantage.

  • You are well versed in using the common MS Office programs, especially Excel, you are experienced. First user knowledge in SAP FI is an advantage.

  • You are committed and have fun working independently to help to shape the future of our team.
