In our Service Unit Global Intellectual Property, we are responsible for all services relating to Intellectual Property, i.e. patents, trademarks, trade secrets, plant variety protection, copyrights, designs and IP Intelligence, as well as all IP-contracts. We are a global team servicing the entire BASF group and work in close alliance with the operating business units as well as with the research and technology platforms. In this way we create a basis for future business success and actively influence BASF's competitive situation.
What you can expect
The IP Intelligence unit of the Global Intellectual Property department supports BASF worldwide along the entire innovation chain with professional information analyses. Our service portfolio ranges from trend identification and classic IP searches to complex landscape analyses, technology studies and registration searches. Be part of our Berlin team within the Chemicals and Engineering Information group.
You work as a global point of contact for professional information focusing on inorganic chemistry and catalysis.
From day one, you are involved in BASF's research and development projects and support those with information relevant for business and research.
In close cooperation with the patent department and the operating divisions, you perform information analyses to to safeguard future fields of business.
You prepare analyses of technology and competitors to support our research and business units in the strategic decision-making process.
Working within interdisciplinary project teams, you develop technologies to optimize the management of information, and shape the future information services for BASF.
What we expect
degree in a scientific or technical field, preferably in Inorganic, Physical or Technical Chemistry, a doctorate is an advantage
solid understanding of industrial research and development and extensive professional skills and professional experience in the field of inorganic chemistry, materials science, or catalysis
ideally, additional knowledge about basic chemicals and chemical processes as well as knowledge and skills relating to professional scientific information analysis and basic knowledge about patents
strong communication skills in English and/or German
enthusiasm to develop innovative solutions and to implement them in a team
Location-independent work models with defined days of presence in Berlin and place of residence in Germany.
