What you can expect
Within our Domestic Deliveries Unit, we are responsible for the handling of national and international truck and intermodal shipments for packed goods. We deliver the products in compliance with the requested delivery date and at optimal cost conditions.
You plan the shipments to external customers in compliance with legal, BASF-internal, safety-relevant and packaging-related regulations to meet the customer-specific service levels.
You monitor all deliveries through to final delivery date and communicate daily with internal and external customers and hauliers so any issues or delays can be quickly resolved and information on any deviation can be provided pro-actively.
Furthermore, you produce, control and file all necessary transport documents, safety data sheets and customs invoices.
You monitor and evaluate the service provider's performance in terms of quality, reliability and feedback rate through regular contact and supplier reviews.
You are responsible for the cost control in case of special arrangements-examination of additional costs incurred and entering these into SAP along with the preparation of the corresponding transport conditions.
Also, you will ensure timely communication of disruptions of the normal planning process or the transport execution to the internal customer and agree on changed economic and/or temporal transport conditions.
What we expect
degree in logistics, supply chain or other comparable area
experience in logistics and/or transport management
an understanding of the transportation regulations for the movement of chemicals across all modes of transport (ADR/IMO/IATA/RID)
good commercial awareness and knowledge of business processes
ability to work with MS Office packages, and SAP R/3
fluent English written and spoken, another european language is a plus
