Business Development Analyst- 1902153

Where the Chemistry Happens

This position plays a key role in supporting the BASF seeds business in the areas of special projects and intellectual property stewardship. The Business Development Analyst co-leads special projects with the Business Development Project Manager collaborating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success. In addition, this position will lead evaluation of all financial and strategic aspects for special projects.

The Business Development Analyst will work with the Business Development Manager contributing to the BASF Seeds intellectual property stewardship strategy. Specifically, this position is responsible to develop, implement and manage an effective intellectual property monitoring program across crops.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead seeds special projects

  • Lead the development, analysis and modeling of strategic options for special projects with in the seeds business unit. (Current example InVigor RATE)

  • Develop, execute and manage the seeds intellectual property monitoring program

  • Manage and execute the Material Transfer Agreement Process to support the exchange of BASF seed with 3 rd parties for trial purposes

  • Support Seeds Marketing with market analysis and modeling

Formula for Success :

Education

· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or related discipline

Experience

· Minimum 5 years of agricultural experience (sales & Marketing or project management/product launch)

Knowledge/Skills

· Experience in project management and/or launching products

· Ability to lead and influence team members who are not direct reports

· Financial analysis training is an asset

· Strong interpersonal skills and excellent collaborative skills with the ability to work across a wide group of internal and external stakeholders.

· Negotiation and problem-solving skills are an asset.
